Sick kids can throw even the most orderly house into chaos. We try and avoid the worst of the worst by vaccinating, personal hygiene and general cleanliness, but let’s face it kids are grose.
HELL my kids would go longer than a week without showers if we didn’t prompt them. They touch EVERYTHING, I’ve had a standing argument in the street with a 3 year old because I wouldn’t let him keep a Spider-Man poptop bottle he had found. #thestruggleisreal
I don’t want to start a debate, I’m pro choice. If you’re a stay at home mum! Hi five to you! If you’re a working mum Hi five to you!
I just want to ask working mums how you cope when your kids get sick, especially when it seems like an endless tag team effect that seems to drag on for weeks as they fall sick one after the other?
I’m lucky enough that we are self employed, I can do book work from home or they can come to work with us. I can stay at home all day and cuddle a child on the couch if I need to. Yes, I know how lucky I am, not everyone has the same luxury.
Do you take a sick day? Or annual leave? Some of you may need to take leave without pay. Others may have grandparents or an amazing network of support to call on. Regardless of how you cope, I’d like to thank all the employers out there who have kids and understand. Understanding employers can make all the difference to an employee.
I have in the past walked out on a good paying job because the CEO in her mid forties who didn’t have kids got mad because I couldn’t give her a heads up. “Ummmm sorry Susan, but my child passed out hit her head and had a seizure, don’t you think if I could see that coming I would have caught her before she knocked herself out?, Apologies that I inconvenienced you.” 🤷🏼♀️😂😂
For now my “infectiously cute” Miss B is working hard on her school work. While I cut steel and hubby builds.

Thanks for stopping by!!
