Bonus Points, boosting your budget and getting more bang for your buck $$.

I am an avid Woolworths Shopper, and for a long time that was my only option. Turns out old habits are hard to break. I don’t hate Coles and quiet often pop into the store for various specials from time to time.

What I want to talk about though is Bonus Points and store cards! I keep them all in the Stocard app on my phone so I’m not weighed down by them all. The two major cards being “Woolworths Rewards” & “Flybuys”.

Woolworths Rewards are available to use at Woolworths Liquor, Fuel and Grocery outlets and there are several options for the points you accumulate. Calculated at 1 point per $1 spent. You can save $10 off your shop every time it reaches $10. You can bank points until Christmas time. Then from mid December you can choose when to use them. Fuel discounts are stored on the card too, which saves you remembering to take your receipts in when you pay. I don’t use the fuel vouchers because Caltex/Woolworths don’t accept the fuel card we use. Shell/Coles Express does.

A few things to make sure of if you new and going to sign up, or have used Woolworths Rewards for a while. Make sure you have selected the correct offer for you. Then make sure your email address is valid so you get all the bonus emails, these need to be activated for you to receive bonus points.

FlyBuys, unlike Woolworths Rewards have heaps more businesses affiliated with it, so I find points accumulate quicker even though I don’t do my major grocery shop at Coles.

I’ve linked my eBay and I changed my credit card to a NAB one when it first came out. I limit the use of my credit card to Groceries only, then pay out the total balance as soon as I’ve done it. So technically every time I shop at Woolworths I earn both Woolies reward and Flybuys by using that card.

Flybuys also have an app, where you can activate bonuses keep track of points and even spend points on items in store.

I always activate all the offers for both cards even if I don’t intend on using them so that they will keep sending offers.

Other store cards can present good savings also. Recently I got an email from Strandbags stating I had received a $30 voucher. I went into the store to see if anything sparked my interest and I picked up a Colorado card wallet for FREE!!! To add to the bonus it was on sale from $39.99 to $29.99, so my $30 voucher technically got me a $40 item.

I save ALL my points for Christmas. Woolworths Rewards for Christmas food and Flybuys for presents, because I can turn points into Kmart or Target dollars. Giving my Christmas budget a nice boost. I don’t recommend spending money specifically to earn points, but I can recommend scanning your card with your normal everyday purchases. This way your not spending anything unnecessary.

Happy Shopping 🛍! I hope a few of these tips help you build up your points. Keep your email address active with stores in your area and you will find offers will be sent through to try and entice you back into the store. If you do happen to get a voucher, like mine above stay strong and ONLY spend the voucher amount.
